Batik is a type of fabric that is hand dyed into sometimes vibrant geometric fabrics. I think batik fabrics look similar to tie-dyed fabrics. Because it is hand dyed, it is typically more expensive than other quilting fabrics.
I enjoy using batik fabrics when quilting because it adds a very rich and unique feel to my pieces.
